… plan for retirement or know if you can retire yet.

How can we help?
Retirement plan
You may be fortunate to work for a company that matches and/or makes a generous retirement contribution each year on your behalf. But how do those investments mix with whatever you own outside of your company retirement plan? Is your asset allocation appropriate across all your accounts? Which assets should you hold in which accounts? How do real estate and bank accounts fit in?
Benefits package
Many financial services firms have top-notch benefits packages with a lot of great options and perks. Are you making the most of your options? Are you leaving money and/or perks on the table?
Bonuses
Getting a big bonus feels good, no? How are you using that money? Are you building in sufficient buffers to account for when the company profit-sharing portion of a bonus is lower than normal due to a down year? Are you using the proceeds in a smart way? And how are you handling the tax aspects of a big bonus? Do you end up owing a lot of money at tax time?
Insurance & Estate Planning
Most people have the basics when it comes to insurance, but do you know what your policies actually cover? Do you have risks in your life that aren’t accounted for in your coverage? What will your beneficiaries have to deal with after you’re gone? There are so many complicated details to figure out when it comes to this stuff. Let us help you reduce your premiums if possible, manage your risks, and plan for the future of your assets.
Income during retirement
How much do you need to have saved to retire? When can you make that leap? And when you do retire, you'll be faced with the decision of how to turn your hard-earned savings into a stream of income that will last for the rest of your life. How should that be structured? There are different ways and tools to approach that puzzle, and it's an area that we specialize in.
Tax
planning
No one likes paying taxes, but it’s a reality for all of us. The good news is that there are strategies we can help you with to lessen the burden. Especially going into retirement, there are some major moves you can make to reduce your lifetime tax bill, while also reducing the tax burden for your heirs.
We think about Financial Health like a circle. All parts are important, interconnected, and should be looked at regularly.

Why you should work with us
We know the financial industry, and we understand the circumstances that financial services associates often face.
Keith, our founder and financial planner, worked at Capital Group for 18 years, spending his entire career in Los Angeles.
During his time at Capital Group, Keith gained an appreciation for the core values that Capital Group prioritizes, including integrity, accountability, and a client focus, all of which have largely influenced the values we hold at SFP as well.
Keith said goodbye to CG in 2019, when his family moved to Spokane, Washington to be closer to extended family. That’s when he started Spencer Financial Planning, to help others like himself figure out their finances and plan for the long-term.
